Father’s Day Futility

Red Sox 8, Orioles 6 (10 innings) : Fathers Day Futilty – The O’s rally back to take the lead in the 8th but the Red Sox tie it in the 9th & go ahead for good w/ a 5-run 10th against the Orioles bullpen. Jonathan Villar scores on a wild pitch by Marcus Walden to tie, Stevie Wilkerson hits a pinch hit triple & scores on a single by Hanser Alberto to put the O’s ahead in the 8th. Mychal Givens gives up the game tying homerun to Marco Hernandez (#1) in the 9th & the go ahead homerun to Rafael Devers (#11) in the 10th as the Red Sox take the lead for good. Givens allows 4 runs in relief as the Red Sox blow the game wide open in the 10th. Wilkerson hits a 2-run shot (#6) & Trey Mancini adds a solo blast (#16) off of Joe Smith in the 10th.
Baltimore is swept, has lost 5 in a row, has the worst home record & has the worst record in the major leagues. They now head to Oakland.
