Week 7: October 20th, 2019 @ 12:00 pm.
INDIANAPOLIS – A showdown between division rivals the Indianapolis Colts (3-2) and Houston Texans (4-2). Houston will travel up to Indianapolis to face a Colts team coming off a bye week. Houston is coming off a victory, upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. For the Colts, this was a much needed bye, as they get two weeks of preparation and get healthy. All-Pro Linebacker Darius Leonard has been cleared from concussion protocol, and his return is a major boost for the Colts defense. Colts defense will face QB Deshaun Watson, who is coming off a 30-of-42 passing (71.4 %) for 280 yards, one touchdown (one rushing touchdown), and two interceptions performance. He was not sacked in that contest. Colts should get pressure on Watson, as he has been sacked 18 times, ranked 5th in the NFL. Colts must continue to feature RB Marlon Mack in the run-heavy Frank Reich’s offense. The third-year running back is averaging 94 ypg, 5th in the NFL. The important stat involves Mack’s workload. He’s averaging 20.2 carries per game, second to Carolina’s stud Christian McCaffrey (21.2). He set a career-high with 29 carries in the upset of the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Colts running game that traditionally has been in the bottom of the league, now sits at No. 4 (142 ypg) heading into Sunday’s AFC South showdown with the Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium. The winner of this matchup will hold the top spot in the AFC South.
