Bay Area Hysteria : The Orioles head to the Westcoast & take 2 out of 3 from the Athletics in Oakland after losing 2 out of 3 at home to these same A’s last month.

Game 1 : Orioles 3, Athletics 2 : John Means strikes out 9 in 7 strong innings as the O’s win in Oakland for the first time since 2017. Means allows just 2 runs on 3 hits, walks 1 & strikes out 9, while Cedric Mullins & Austin Hays go back to back in the 3rd inning to provide the offense – Mullins drives in 2 on the night. Sean Murphy hits a solo shot in the 2nd & Mitch Moreland adds a solo shot in the 7th but Oakland can get no closer.

Game 2 : Orioles 8, Athletics 4 – The O’s bust loose for 6 runs in the 3rd inning, as Austin Hays singles home a run & 2 more score on the play after an error by Matt Chapman, Hays then scores on a single by Trey Mancini. DJ Stewart caps off the 6-run outburst w/ a 2-run blast, he also scores twice on the day. Every Oriole has 1 hit each, as they pound out 10 on the day. Mark Canha & Ramon Laureano both home for Oakland in the loss.

Game 3 : Athletics 7, Orioles 5 – Matt Olsen goes 3-5, w/ a solo homer & a double, drives in 2 & scores 2, Jed Lowrie goes 3-4 w/ 2 RBI as the A’s hold off the O’s to avoid the sweep @ home. Austin Hays hits a solo shot in the 3rd, his 4th HR of the year against Oakland & Trey Mancini goes 2-5 w/ a 2-run single in the 7th, drives in 3 on the afternoon for the O’s. Ramon Laureano makes a leaping catch to rob DJ Stewart in the top of the 8th & hits a 2-run shot in the bottom of the inning as the A’s finally put the O’s away.
