Orioles 6, Yankees 5 : Mr. Smith – Trailing 5-1 in the 5th inning, Manny Machado hits a 3-run bomb (#1) to left center to pull the Orioles within 1 & Seth Smith hits a 2-run shot in the 7th to put the O’s ahead for good. Ubaldo Jimenez allows 5 runs on 7 hits in 4 1/3 innings, walking 1 & striking out 5. He earns a no decision. Ubaldo allows a pair of 2-run homers & an RBI single, as OF Matt Holliday (#1) drives in 3 of New York’s 5 runs. Gary Sanchez (#1) hits a 2-run shot off of Jimenez in the 5th to make it 5-1 New York before the O’s rally in the late innings. Smith’s 2-run shot (#1) in the 7th, off of Yankees reliever Tyler Clippard puts the O’s ahead to stay & gives them the come from behind win @ home. Baltimore is now 3-0 for the second consecutive season (they started out 7-0 last season) Zach Britton closes it out in the 9th, as the Orioles closer is now 51 for his last 51.

Orioles 5, Yankees 4 : O What a Feeling – Trailing 4-1 in the 5th, the Orioles once again go into Rally Bird mode & come from behind to win for the second night in a row. Ronald Torreyes drives in 2 on a single in the 2nd to put New York ahead 2-0 against O’s starter Kevin Gausman. C Wellington Castillo provides an RBI single in the 4th to make it 2-1, but the Yankees score twice on a balk by Gausman & an RBI single by Starlin Castro. Manny Machado starts the O’s rally w/ an RBI double in the 5th & Mark Trumbo’s FC cuts the lead to 1. Trumbo adds another on an RBI single in the 7th to tie it & scores on the go ahead single by Hyun-Soo Kim which puts the Birds ahead for good. Gausman goes 4 2/3, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, he walks 3 & strikes out 4. Zach Britton closes it out for his 52nd Save in a row. The Orioles are now 4-0 for the 2nd straight year, they started out 7-0 last year.

The 2017 MLB Season is officially here, so now we will be fully entertained for the next 162 Games, unless your team played today or unless you just ain’t a Baseball fan…..But hey, who am I to judge you. Baseball is actually a great game, it’s a game that is like no other. You gotta think ahead all the time, you gotta have good pitching & good managing. You gotta be able to manufacture runs & play different Defensive positions. Baseball is the beginning of Spring & the beginning of the warm weather, the Heat of the Summer, the Intensity of September & the Chill of October. Baseball is America, Baseball is Deion Sanders, Brian Jordan & Bo Jackson playing 2 Sports – All Black Athletes, who all played in the NFL , but happened to the love of the game. Baseball is Pure. Baseball is what gets us all through the Summer & into the Fall for Football season. Baseball is No Hitters & Extra Innings, Pitching Duels & Slugfests, Homeruns & Walk Offs, Passion & Heartbreak. Baseball will give you everything you need in life. Hell, you can rake leaves or work on your car while listening to Baseball on your radio. You can follow your teams through your teams app & you don’t need to even watch on TV anymore. Let’s get ready for a 162 games of up & down emotion!! From Memorial Day, Pool Parties, Beer, BBQ’s, Beaches, Fourth of July, Summer Fun, Amusement​ Parks, Labor Day & all the way to October, let’s all enjoy the upcoming season y’all!! We all feel like we have a chance, see that’s the difference between Baseball & other sports…..Anyone has a shot!! We had 3 Games today & we have a full slate tomorrow. The time is now! There is something to be said for a Woman who has an appreciation for Sports… Although it is rare, she is valued in a regard that some would say is bigger than any other item a man is looking for in his dream girl.

My sports love affair came at the tender age of 2. My dad and his buddies would get together on Sundays with Beers, Burgers and the Boob Tube as some would refer as the TV.  During this time, I was in the midst of Potty Training and nothing is worse for a Football Fan than to miss a big play for a bathroom break, especially for your 2 year old daughter. So through innovation and the Dad Handbook,  he placed my potty seat in front of the television and from there I was hooked.

With a Onesie on, Juice Cup in hand, Pig tails up top and lungs that screamed through Gardena, I became a Football Fan.

From that tender age until now, The countdown to a Football Sunday is always on my mind. Even today with less than a month from Draft Day, I live, breathe and worship the game.

The game of Football has the natural power to bring forth comradery that in today’s times is needed more than anything… And although like Ambassador Ken I have no team, my love for the game is tried and true.
